74% of Us Would Be Okay With An All Sides, No Turkey Thanksgiving
Is it dressing or stuffing?
If you haven’t bought your turkey yet, get on it. There’s a shortage this year. But if you don’t get one, it might not be the end of the world . . .
A new poll found 74% of Americans would be okay with an ALL-SIDES Thanksgiving. Meaning no turkey, just side dishes. And the average person expects to have at least FIVE of them to choose from this year.
Mashed potatoes are the #1 side we NEED to have or we’ll be disappointed. Stuffing is a close second.
The ten most important sides are: Mashed potatoes . . . stuffing . . . sweet potatoes . . . cranberry sauce . . . mac-and-cheese . . . green bean casserole . . . candied yams . . . cornbread . . . baked potatoes . . . and corn on the cob.
Mashed potatoes are #1 everywhere in the country except the South, where “stuffing” or “dressing” edged them out by one percentage point.
43% of people said their family basically serves the exact same Thanksgiving dinner each year, and hasn’t changed things up in at least four years.
The top sides we’ll make extra helpings of are mashed potatoes, stuffing(or dressing), and mac-and-cheese.
