Going on a Cruise is a Cheap Vacation to Take Right Now
People are still doing a lot of travel, fulfilling all the pent-up demand of when they couldn’t because of the pandemic. Between lots of people going on vacations and high inflation, the cost of travel is expensive right now — except for one thing: cruises. The Washington Post reports that cruise fares are cheap as the industry is still recovering from the pandemic. Cruise Critic manager editor Chris Gray Faust said, “Fares are some of the most affordable we’ve seen in a while. You’d be hard-pressed to find a land-based travel experience that’s more affordable or convenient this summer.” Also contributing to the low cost of cruises right now is that some travelers feel the Covid risk on cruises is higher than on other types of travel, even though many of the big cruise lines require passengers to be vaccinated and present a negative test result before boarding.
