Let Your Teen Sleep In To Improve Their School Day
A high school in Brazil shifted school start times back by one hour, and found surprising results.
Researchers discovered that the teens felt less depressed, angry, and fatigued throughout the school day. One theory is that the body’s natural circadian rhythm changes during teen years, making it harder for adolescents to wake up and stay awake in the morning.
The study, conducted over three weeks by the Federal University for Latin American Integration, changed the school start time from 7:30 in the morning to 8:30.
