Chattanooga, Tennessee—

There may be no place like home, but when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, a new poll found that more than two-thirds of respondents, 68 percent, said they get their best sleep while on vacation. Additionally, in the OnePoll survey of 2,000 adults, an even greater 75 percent said they wake up feeling more refreshed than usual when they’re vacationing. At the same time, 65 percent of respondents start to miss their own bed after being away for three nights. Asked about what the best parts of sleeping away from home on vacation are, 43 percent named the smell of clean sheets, 41 percent the mattress, and 39 percent being able to sleep late. Many people still follow their bedtime rituals when they are on vacation, with the top one maintained being using a white noise machine at 41 percent, following by washing their face at 40 percent, and exercising and bringing a special pillow, both at 39 percent.
