The American Music Awards were last night and for the first time Ciara hosted! There were many performances last night, including Travis Scott, Selena Gomez and of course Taylor Swift. The AMA’s held a lot of firsts last night. Selena Gomez’s performance shock a lot of people claiming she was a little off key. This was Selena’s first performance since her kidney transplant in 2016. She said that just before she took the AMA stage, she had a major panic attack and that’s why she was a little off while preforming her #1 hit single “Lose You to Love Me.” Taylor Swift also broke records last night, now having the most AMA’s in history! Some singing celebs weren’t there last night. Noticeably absent from the AMAs was Ariana Grande, who scored six nominations. Unfortunately she had a performance in Tampa, Fla. that she couldn’t miss. Justin Bieber and Hailey Biebe didn’t RSVP to the AMAs this year. The “Sorry” singer wasn’t up for any nominations and didn’t have any performances planned, so maybe that’s why they decided to sit this one out. And Cardi B: The “Bodak Yellow” rapper wasn’t on hand to receive her award for Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop on Sunday night, but she did give her acceptance speech via Instagram. Dressed in a cozy white robe, sunglasses and chic earrings, Cardi B thanked her fans from the comfort of her own home and credited her AMAs absence to her busy schedule. “I wanna say thank you everybody for voting for me for this AMAs award. I’m so grateful that I won this AMAs award…Just focusing so I can deliver some good ol’ music for y’all in 2020.”
