Will Increased Voter Turnout Have An Impact This Election Day?

Chattanooga, Tennessee—

Some estimates show Republicans have an 83% chance of taking the House and a 54% chance of taking the Senate, but voter turnout and polling errors could have a huge impact.

While Republicans tend to have more enthusiastic voters, some major polls show Democrats have closed this gap, which means more Dems might be showing up to the voting booth. Scandals have also shaken some candidates, giving their opponents an edge.

It seems like we will need to wait until Tuesday night to see. “Nobody in the polling or election forecasting community has any right to be all that confident about what will happen on Tuesday,” Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight said.
