It’s a holiday miracle! For the first time in 47 years, the Adams County SPCA shelter has no dogs in the building. The animal shelter adopted out about 600 animals in 2023, and had no dogs at all within its walls on Christmas Day.

“This is the first time in 47 YEARS that the Adams County SPCA is empty, let alone at Christmas time,” a Friday Facebook post read. “To say that we are beyond excited is an understatement!”

Upon hearing that there were no dogs in the building, a stray cat wandered in on Friday.

The shelter will now help other shelters in the area with taking care of their pooches.
