This Saturday, April 20th, marks an exciting day for outdoor enthusiasts in Chattanooga as the Chattanooga Public Library and Outdoor Chattanooga team up to unveil their much-anticipated Adventure Library collection. The Beyond Books collection will offer a plethora of camping and hiking gear tailored for families eager to explore the great outdoors.
Located on the 4th Floor of the Downtown Library, this innovative initiative allows library cardholders to borrow camping and hiking essentials completely free of charge. From tents and sleeping bags to trekking poles and swimming equipment, the Adventure Library promises to equip families with everything they need for memorable outdoor adventures.
The collection boasts an impressive array of gear, including Big Agnes tents in varying sizes, hiking backpacks, dry bags, sleeping bags for both adults and children, foam sleeping pads, trekking poles, swim buoys, swimming goggles, LED headlamps, solar lanterns, and high-power binoculars.
To streamline the borrowing process, all gear will be checked out and returned through the 4th Floor Makerspace at the Downtown Library. Additionally, each item is searchable in the Library Catalog, ensuring easy access and availability for all patrons.
