Maverick Malone joined Gino D today on The Afternoon Show. Maverick is an author and spoken word artist who also hosts the engaging podcast “Ink Speak.”
Recently, she has embarked on an exciting new project in collaboration with Asheville Dispensary & Elixir Bar on Manufacturers Rd on the Northshore. Together, they are hosting a FREE monthly open mic event for poetry and spoken word, with the next one scheduled for tomorrow, August 6th, from 6pm to 8pm.
Maverick’s journey in writing and public speaking has been transformative. Although she has been crafting poetry for years, it is only in the past 2-3 years that she has fully embraced writing as her career. Overcoming a profound fear of public speaking, she discovered that poetry not only helped her find her voice but also conquer her anxieties.
Her published works include two full-length poetry collections: Pressed Petals and Hope and Other Beautiful Things.
