The Creator of “Air Bud” Is Homeless and About to Be Evicted from a Shelter

Who could forget the basketball-playing Golden Retriever in “Air Bud”?  His name was Buddy and he kicked off a whole film franchise.

Sadly, the man who owned Buddy is now on the streets.

His name is Kevin DiCiccio and he’s credited for creating the Air Bud character in 11 movies.  Unfortunately, he says that didn’t come with much of a paycheck from Disney.

Kevin is currently at a shelter in San Diego, California, but is nearing the end of his 90-day limit.  He has COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), so he needs power to use his oxygen concentrator.

Some of his friends have organized a GoFundMe to help him get into an assisted living facility.  As of this afternoon, it’s raised over $11,000.

In case you’re curious about Buddy, Kevin found him as a stray in 1989.  He passed away in 1998 from cancer.
