Hamilton County Welcomes Its First Whataburger Location in East Ridge!

In a significant boost to the local dining landscape, Hamilton County is set to welcome its very first Whataburger, a beloved fast-food chain, at the former site of Wally’s Restaurant on Ringgold Road. The City of East Ridge announced the anticipated development last week, with construction expected to commence soon, pending final city council approval this Thursday, February 27th.

Whataburger has become a staple in American fast-food culture since its inception in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The brand boasts over 1,080 locations across 16 states and is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The East Ridge location, spearheaded by BKW Properties, LLC, in partnership with MWB Restaurants LLC, is poised to introduce residents to the iconic chain’s signature burgers and a wide range of menu options, including chicken, breakfast items, salads, and customizable combinations.

“We are excited to welcome Whataburger to East Ridge,” said Mayor Brian Williams. “This has been an incredible project to work on over the past couple of years, and it is rewarding to see Whataburger choose East Ridge as its newest home. This prime location will be a fantastic addition to our community and economy.”

The East Ridge Industrial Development Board has already approved the Border Region Development Agreement necessary for the project, paving the way for the final green light from the East Ridge City Council in their upcoming meeting. With construction slated to begin in the coming months, Whataburger aims for a grand opening towards the end of the year.
