Rihanna’s Got New Music!

Yesterday Rihanna took to social media to announce the upcoming release of her first song in almost three years, “Friend of Mine,” which will be featured on the upcoming Smurfs movie soundtrack. On top of being on the soundtrack, Riri will also provide the voice of Smurfette in the movie! She will be joined by fellow stars John Goodman, James Corden, Nick Offerman, and Sandra Oh.

“Friend of Mine” will drop this Friday, May 16th! The movie will hit theaters on July 18.  The Smurfs soundtrack will also feature songs from Tyla as well as the track “Higher Love” by DJ Khaled, Cardi B, and DESI TRILL. “Friend of Mine” is Rihanna’s first new song since 2022’s “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
