Here’s How Miley Cyrus Patched Up Her Dysfunctional Family

The Celebrity Beat…

Miley Cyrus says her family went through a “dark decade”, but things are better now.

Quote, “Half of us weren’t speaking to each other at one point, and we cleaned all that up.  That was a really important part of my year this year, was all of my family putting those lines of communication back together.”

So how did they do it?  Not with therapy.  Miley says, quote, “We’re so messy we didn’t even do any of that . . . to get each other in a room to even get to counseling would have been a war.  So it was easier to just go, ‘White flag.‘”

Instead, Miley says, quote, “I just kind of bust through the pile that’s stacked, and just go, ‘I’m here.  You’re here.  Let’s start by having a good time togetherAnd then as we start bringing some happiness and joy into each other’s life, then we’ll just be in a better place to have these conversations.  ‘Cause I’d rather get it balanced first.”

Miley said all this on Monica Lewinsky’s podcast, where she also revealed that her over-sexed Bangerz-era persona cost her A LOT.

She said, quote, “There was… a time where my brother and sister didn’t want to go to school, because of how humiliated they were to be related to me. I had a lot of guilt about how hard it would’ve been to be my sibling or my parent, and how embarrassing.”

She added, quote, “It was really hard for me to go home and see my dad and look him in the eyes and not feel super embarrassed . . . No one wanted to date me.”
