Pixar Says That If You’re So Thirsty for Original Content, You Should See “Elio”

People loves to complain about sequels, prequels, reboots, remakes, and movies based on existing properties. But when the studios deliver original content, do these malcontents put their money where their mouths are?
They didn’t when it came to “Elio”. That movie broke the record for the worst opening weekend EVER for a Pixar film. And they’re not taking if lying down.
Pixar’s Instagram account reposted a video of a woman hyping “Elio” and saying, quote, “Stop complaining that Disney doesn’t make original stories if you don’t show up to movie theaters and support them in the first place.”
I get this, and I kinda feel it. My question is, can something like this change minds? And more immediately, can it turn the fortunes of “Elio” around? I say no. It’s probably kinda too late.
