Legendary Rock Photographers David Bailey And Anton Corbijn Honored At 2025 Abbey Road Music Photography Awards

On Friday (October 3), The Abbey Road Music Photography Awards announced their 2025 winners, celebrating outstanding images captured over the past year in a ceremony held at the iconic Studios One and Two in London. The event honored legendary photographer David Bailey, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for six decades of music photography featuring iconic images of Elton John, Alice Cooper, and Nile Rodgers. Anton Corbijn, whose career features stylish work with Depeche Mode, U2, David Bowie, and Nirvana, was awarded the Icon Award, with the artist receiving tributes from members of Metallica and the Killers, with Nick Cave saying, “You have spent your career making me more handsome and interesting than I actually am. Your work continues to fascinate and inspire us all.”

The ceremony also recognized rising talents including Jordan Curtis Hughes for his photo of the 1975’s Matty Healy and Kirby Gladstein’s image of Lana Del Rey arriving at Coachella awarded Music Moment of the Year. The winning and nominated works – chosen from over 20,000 submissions from 30 countries – will be exhibited at London’s Royal Albert Hall from October 22 to November 3, featuring a free public viewing on October 25.
