The Celebrity Beat…

“Stranger Things” has killed off a lot of side characters, but the main cast is intact as we head into Season 5.  That almost wasn’t the case, though.  Two of the show’s biggest characters almost didn’t make it.

Jim Hopper is one of them.  Remember at the end of Season 3, when it APPEARED that he’d died in an explosion?  Well, the creators had serious discussions about killing him off.

Luckily, they felt Hopper still had some “growing” to do, so they saved him.

The other one is Steve Harrington.  If you can believe it, he was supposed to bite it all the way back in Season 1… but everybody fell in love with Joe Keery, so they kept him on.

Obviously the right call, since Steve “The Hair” Harrington became one of the show’s most popular characters.
