Chattanooga’s beloved nonprofit educational hub, The Chattery, is commemorating its 12th anniversary with a week packed with community-focused activities, including FREE coworking sessions and special giveaways.
Founded in 2014, The Chattery has become a cornerstone for creative learning and community engagement in Chattanooga. After overcoming a significant setback due to a fire that displaced the organization for more than a year, it recently returned to its original Rossville Avenue location. This milestone coincides with the organization’s plans to purchase its own office space, signaling a new chapter of stability and growth.
The organization’s leadership sees the anniversary as a moment of celebration and renewal. One of the highlights of the week includes launching its new coworking community, called The Fireplace, which will be available to members at no cost throughout the week.
The week’s festivities feature daily complimentary coworking hours, running from early morning until late afternoon.
In addition to coworking, The Chattery is hosting a variety of promotional activities such as a chance to win a $75 gift card for classes, day pass giveaways for The Fireplace, and a special promotion offering extra value on gift card purchases. The organization is also hosting a sold-out fundraising dinner at Calliope to support its Arts for Older Adults program, which provides FREE and low-cost art workshops aimed at seniors.
Throughout March, The Chattery aims to spotlight its Arts for Older Adults initiative, which was launched virtually in 2020 to combat loneliness and foster social connections among seniors aged 60 and above. The program has expanded through partnerships with local organizations like the Chattanooga Public Library and the Silvertree Senior Centers, and has been credited with enhancing memory, cognitive function, and community engagement among older adults.
Supporters interested in contributing to the program or exploring the organization’s diverse classes can do so through THECHATTERY.ORG. Details about upcoming classes and events are also available online.
As The Chattery celebrates its 12th year, it reflects on its resilience and ongoing commitment to fostering lifelong learning and community connection in Chattanooga.
