Starting May 1st, Blood Assurance is offering a new benefit for donors at its downtown location on East 4th Street. Donors will now receive FREE comprehensive lab testing through a partnership with Goodlabs, providing valuable health insights with each donation.
The testing package includes standard panels such as metabolic, lipid, hormone, and kidney function tests. These services typically cost up to $500 if paid out of pocket, making this a significant perk for donors. The results are delivered with clear explanations, giving donors a helpful overview of their overall health.
Individuals interested in participating can schedule appointments online. After donating, donors will receive a text notification once their results are available, and they can view their reports on the Goodlabs website.
The initiative aims to encourage more local blood donations while providing donors with preventative health information. Currently, the blood supply is especially in need of O-positive, O-negative, and B-negative blood types.
