The Celebrity Beat…
It’s becoming a new trend for celebrities to trademark themselves in the age of A.I. First it was Matthew McConaughey, and now Taylor Swift is doing it.
She filed two sound trademarks of her voice. One is, quote, “Hey, it’s Taylor Swift” and the other is, quote, “Hey, it’s Taylor.”
Taylor also filed a visual trademark of a photo of herself from the Eras Tour. She’s wearing her iridescent bodysuit with silver boots and holding a pink guitar.
She’s already dealt with her likeness being used in A.I.-generated images, including pornographic images. So this trademark will be her effort to fight against that.
The, quote, “trademark yourself approach” hasn’t been tested in court yet in the age of A.I. But McConaughey was granted eight trademarks last year, so Taylor’s probably will be too.
