The Most Misspelled Word In Tennessee Is….
The winner of this year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee was 14-year-old Shrey Parikh from San Bernardino, California.
The winning word that he correctly spelled was “bromocriptine” (pronounced “BROH-moh-KRIP-teen), which is “a polypeptide alkaloid that is a derivative of ergot and mimics the activity of dopamine.”
All the brilliant kids participating would be embarrassed by this next story. (And that’s embarrassed. E-M-B-A-R-R-A-S-S-E-D.)
