Chattanooga residents now have a fresh spot to indulge in Japanese-inspired fare. Mumashika, a sister restaurant to the popular Attack of the Tatsu, has officially opened its doors downtown, offering an intimate, dinner-only experience centered around a traditional charcoal yakitori grill.

Located at 818 Georgia Ave, Suite 118, Mumashika is an 18+ establishment open Thursday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant boasts a rotating seasonal menu, with each dish crafted on the fly, influenced by factors such as ingredient availability, temperature, and the artistry of the chef. Guests can expect a unique, serendipitous dining experience where spontaneity and creativity take center stage.

A highlight of Mumashika’s offerings is its curated selection of sake and Japanese whisky, perfectly complementing the smoky flavors of their grilled skewers and seasonal dishes. With a limited number of seats, reservations are strongly recommended and can be made starting on the 15th of each month for the following month. Each reservation guarantees a two-hour dining window, beginning at the time booked.

Our menu is at the whim of the season, each dish altered by the hour of preparation, the person wielding the knife, the temperature, ingredients, and timing,” states Mumashika’s website. “Within this reality ruled by serendipity and creativity, you are simply here to tune into the experience. Surrender to the fun of food. Of eating and enjoying what is in front of you.”

For those eager to be among the first to experience this innovative dining concept, reservations are encouraged well in advance. Discover the new culinary adventure downtown and immerse yourself in the art of spontaneous, seasonal Japanese cuisine at Mumashika.
