In The Know with Gino…
Hamilton County’s Election Commission is offering an opportunity for residents to get involved in the upcoming 2026 election cycle by serving as poll officials. Currently, the Commission is seeking volunteers to fill roles for the August 6th State and Federal Primary, as well as the County General Election.
Individuals from diverse political backgrounds are encouraged to apply to help ensure the voting process remains transparent, accurate, and equitable. To qualify, applicants must be registered voters within Hamilton County or residents who are at least 16 years old. Basic literacy skills in English and the ability to follow written instructions are also required. Candidates or close relatives of candidates are ineligible to serve.
Poll workers are expected to report to their assigned polling locations by 7:00 a.m. on Election Day and remain until the polls close and all equipment is properly returned. Compensation for serving on Election Day ranges from $135 to $175, with additional stipends available for attending training sessions—an extra $20 for completing the training and full-day service on Election Day.
Interested residents can find more information and apply online through the Hamilton County Election Commission’s website HERE or by calling their designated phone number, (423) 209-VOTE (8683).
