For most people, performing in front of friends and family can be nerve-racking. For Tennessee musicians Madelyn Tallent and Malachi Martin, that audience is about to grow to millions.

The Benton, Tennessee duo will make their America’s Got Talent debut as their audition airs nationwide on NBC tonight at 8pm, introducing viewers across the country to a musical partnership that has only been performing together for about six months.

Despite their short time as a duo, Madelyn and Malachi have quickly built a connection both on and off the stage. Now, they’re taking that chemistry to one of the biggest stages in entertainment, standing in front of judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel.

Before the audition airs, Madelyn joined Gino D on The Afternoon Show to talk about the journey that led to America’s Got Talent, the emotions of knowing millions of people are about to watch, and what it has been like balancing everyday life with an opportunity that could change everything.

Madelyn shares the story behind the duo’s rapid rise and the experience of performing in front of the largest audience of their lives.

In this interview, they discuss:

  • How Madelyn and Malachi first started performing together
  • The decision to audition for America’s Got Talent
  • Preparing for the AGT stage
  • Performing in front of Simon Cowell and the judges
  • What they hope viewers take away from their performance
