As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of Christmas is spreading across the country, and now it’s making its way to Hallmark Channel’s exciting new contest: The Merriest Christmas Towns.
Celebrating its 25th birthday, Hallmark is on the hunt for the 25 most joyful, festive towns across America — and I think Chattanooga should try to be one of them!
According to Hallmark’s official website, the contest seeks towns that embody the true magic of Christmas: warm community celebrations, heartwarming traditions, generosity, and that special joyful feeling that fills the air during the holidays. The winning towns will receive a coveted “Official Hallmark Christmas Town” seal of approval and, even more exciting, will be featured in a Hallmark original holiday movie.
The contest invites communities to showcase what makes their town merry and bright through heartfelt letters, photos, videos, and community stories. Hallmark is looking for towns that feel like they belong in a Christmas movie — places where the holiday spirit is alive in every street corner, local event, and festive tradition.
Chattanooga is known for its festive events, especially MAINx24 — a 24-hour citywide celebration of community. I believe it has what it takes to be named one of America’s Merriest Christmas Towns. With its dazzling holiday decorations, friendly neighborhoods, and a community that comes together to celebrate the season, Chattanooga should be confident it can charm the Hallmark judges.
