Chattanooga residents eager to get active and connect with their community have exciting opportunities this fall, as registration opens for several new recreational sports leagues. The city is launching its first-ever FREE youth softball league at Warner Park, along with a new coed adult kickball league designed to promote fun, fitness, and social engagement.
The Chattanooga RBI Fall Softball League marks a significant addition to the city’s youth sports offerings. Organized by the Department of Parks & Outdoors – Sports Division, this FREE program provides an inclusive environment for children and teens to develop their softball skills during the autumn months. With divisions for 8U (coach pitch), 10U, and 12U players, the league emphasizes not only skill-building but also teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence-building. Games are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday evenings at Warner Park, beginning September 14th.
This inaugural softball league aims to foster a positive sporting experience for all participants, whether they are newcomers or seasoned players. The city is actively seeking volunteer coaches for all age groups to help ensure every child has a team to play on. Coaching support will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to step forward to help grow the local softball community.
In addition to youth sports, adults can relive their childhood with the Just Kickin’ It Adult Kickball League. Hosted by the same city department, this league offers a casual, social environment for grown-ups to stay active and meet new friends. The league features both recreational and competitive divisions, allowing teams to choose their level of play. Matches are also held at Warner Park, and players can register as entire teams for a fun-filled season of kickball.
Both leagues are FREE to participate, emphasizing community, enjoyment, and active living. Whether you’re encouraging your kids to stay active or looking for a new way to socialize and stay fit, Chattanooga’s latest sports programs provide a perfect opportunity to get involved. Spaces are limited, so residents are encouraged to sign up soon before spots fill up.
