The Celebrity Beat…

Hayden Panettiere’s death was apparently the result of an overdose.

Hayden had flown to Greenville, South Carolina on Saturday with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson. They went to an Airbnb that Brian and his brother had been living in at an apartment complex.

Just before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, a 911 call was received about an “unidentified female” who had gone into cardiac arrest. Authorities were there in minutes, and performed CPR.  She was pronounced dead about a half hour later.

The 911 call mentioned an overdose, and Narcan was found on a mattress.  It’s not clear if it was used on Hayden, or on someone else in the apartment.

Property managers informed residents that no crime had been committed… although the police investigation is still open. Hayden’s recent memoir detailed physical abuse from Hickerson.

But the local coroner said there were no signs of trauma that would have contributed to her death.

Check out tributes to Hayden from various friends and co-stars, including Emma Roberts, David Arquette, Melissa Barrera, Selma Blair, Rosie O’Donnell, Viola Davis, and more.
