Riverside Beverage Co. and MoonPie Team Up for New Chocolate Stout!

Two Chattanooga traditions are coming together for a new locally brewed beer inspired by the iconic MoonPie.
MoonPie is getting a new twist this fall, and it’s one that’s made right here in Chattanooga! Riverside Beverage Co. is teaming up with the hometown favorite to introduce MoonPie Chocolate Stout, a beer inspired by the classic treat’s signature flavors.
The new stout blends rich dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow and a hint of graham cracker for a smooth, balanced beer that captures the familiar taste of a MoonPie without being overly sweet or heavy. The brew clocks in at 6.3% alcohol by volume (ABV).
The recipe was developed by Joel Krautstrunk, co-founder of Hutton & Smith Brewing Co., building on the original recipe created by Jake Raulston, founder of Naked River Brewing Company.
Riverside Beverage Co. Managing Partner David Powers says the collaboration brings together two brands deeply connected to Chattanooga, with the goal of creating a beer that tastes unmistakably like MoonPie while remaining easy to drink.
So… When Can You Try It?
MoonPie Chocolate Stout will make its official debut at a release party this Friday, October 16th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Overboard Bar & Grill at the Southern Belle Landing, located at 151 Riverfront Parkway in Chattanooga.
The event is FREE and open to the public. Guests who are 21 and older can enjoy complimentary tastings from 6 to 8 p.m.
After the launch, MoonPie Chocolate Stout will be available in cans and on draft at participating retailers, restaurants and bars.
Whether you’re a MoonPie fan, a craft beer enthusiast or just curious about this uniquely Chattanooga collaboration, it’s a new local flavor worth keeping an eye out for this fall.
