Ambulance Driver Abandoned Chest Pain Patient, Took An Uber Home
An ambulance driver in Cleveland, Ohio, is accused of abandoning a patient mid-transport on Wednesday evening. The patient was being taken to Cleveland Clinic with chest pain when the driver, employed by private company Lynx EMS, reportedly got lost, declared he was “done driving for the day,” and ordered an Uber home. Cleveland EMS paramedics responded and transported the woman to hospital. Lynx EMS later released a vague statement proclaiming that: “Patient safety and quality care are of the utmost importance to us,” but confirmed that an internal review is ongoing and appropriate action will follow. No information about the health of the patient was shared.
