Chattanooga, TN – The countdown to the new school year has begun, and Hamilton County Schools (HCS) is all set to celebrate and kick off the academic session with its highly anticipated 6th Annual Back to School Bash. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, as it relocates to the picturesque Tennessee Riverpark and welcomes families from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5th.
The Back to School Bash is a great opportunity to mark the new school year with families and community while also helping ensure students are First Day Ready.
The event will feature a wide array of activities for families to enjoy, all while discovering essential community resources to support their children’s education and overall well-being. Attendees can look forward to interactive learning activities and resources provided by HCS educators and community partners. Additionally, there will be an interactive art exhibit, engaging STEM activities, and delightful face painting for the little ones.
Promoting health and wellness, the Back to School Bash will offer a range of services including vaccination record printing by the Health Department and well-check screenings for BlueCare Tennessee members. Families will also have the chance to interact with therapy dogs on-site, and sports activities will add to the excitement and physical well-being of the attendees.
The event emphasizes the significance of community support and will provide families with crucial resources. HCS EdConnect, powered by EPB, will offer free WIFI to eligible families, bridging the digital divide and ensuring that every student has access to online learning opportunities. Moreover, attendees will have access to energy assistance programs and job opportunities to further uplift the community.
To keep everyone energized throughout the day, free snacks and meals will be available for families, and food trucks will add to the delicious food options, making it a fun and fulfilling experience for all.
One of the highlights of the event will be the HCS EdConnect press conference, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. During the conference, the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County will jointly proclaim their support for HCS EdConnect, emphasizing the importance of providing equitable access to digital resources for all students.
Superintendent Justin Robertson, Mayor Tim Kelly, Deputy Mayor Tucker McClendon, and families benefiting from HCS EdConnect will share their thoughts and experiences, showcasing the positive impact of the initiative on the local community.
The 6th Annual Back to School Bash promises to be an event filled with excitement, learning, and community support, setting the stage for a successful and fulfilling academic year for Hamilton County students.
