A Man Was Arrested for Smashing a Fake Flock Camera

By now, everyone has heard about the controversies over Flock cameras in some areas . . . over surveillance concerns.  And even the SIGHT of them sets some people off.

A 24-year-old man in Florida named Evan Meyer was arrested for destroying a FAKE Flock camera.  Obviously, he didn’t realize it was fake . . . so it must have looked convincing enough.

So why was a 3D-printed replica Flock camera there?

Well, the real Flock cameras that were there had been stolen, and they’re expensive to replace.  So the police put up decoy ones as “bait” to try to catch a vandal. And they did . . . less than THREE HOURS after they were installed.

Evan faces charges of grand theft, criminal mischief, and damaging computer or electronic equipment.  His total bond was set at $7,500.
