The Celebrity Beat…
The American Music Awards were a pretty tame affair… until Billy Idol came out and blew the roof off the place. Unfortunately, viewers had to wait THREE HOURS for it.
Billy accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, then closed the show with two songs: “Eyes Without a Face” and “Dancing with Myself” …which had the crowd on its feet and moving. There’s no question he’s still got it.
BTS opened the show with a pre-taped performance of “Hooligan”, off their new album “ARIRANG”.
Other performers included Teyana Taylor, Hootie and the Blowfish, New Kids on the Block, and The Pussycat Dolls, just to name a few.
As for the actual awards, BTS won Artist of the Year and Song of the Summer, for “SWIM”.
KATSEYE won New Artist of the Year … Justin Bieber won Best Male Pop Artist … and Sabrina Carpenter won Best Female Pop Artist. Sabrina also won Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for “Man’s Best Friend”.
“Golden” from “Kpop Demon Hunters” won Song of the Year.
Check out all the winners here.
