Anjelah Johnson-Reyes Returns to Hits 96 to Talk New Comedy Special “Ugly Baby”
Comedian, actress, and viral internet legend Anjelah Johnson-Reyes was back on Hits 96, marking her third appearance on the station since 2022.
This time, she joins Gino D to celebrate the release of her brand-new stand-up special, “Ugly Baby,” now streaming for FREE on YouTube.
Over the past two decades, Anjelah has built a career that blends stand-up, television, film, and some of the most recognizable comedy moments on the internet—from her breakout viral “Nail Salon” sketch to her unforgettable MADtv character Bon Qui Qui, which continues to rack up tens of millions of views worldwide.
Her latest special continues that evolution, capturing a new chapter in her life and career while still delivering the sharp, relatable storytelling fans have come to expect. Filmed during two sold-out shows at the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, “Ugly Baby” also marks Anjelah’s debut as a director and executive producer.
In recent years, she has sold out theaters across the country on her “Family Reunion” tour, including multiple landmark venues such as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and The Wiltern in Los Angeles, further cementing her place as one of stand-up’s most in-demand voices.
Beyond the stage, Anjelah continues to expand her creative reach with projects spanning podcasting, writing, and film. Her book Who Do I Think I Am: Stories of Chola Wishes & Caviar Dreams and her podcast Funjelah—which blends comedy with conversations about gratitude and mental health—showcase a more personal side of her storytelling.
Now, she’s bringing it all together in “Ugly Baby,” available to watch for FREE on YouTube, as she reconnects with fans around the world in the same digital space where her career first took off.
