Lizzo was dragged on social media this past weekend after being accused of using an ableist term "spazz" in her new song "Grrls." The word "spazz" is a word that people with disabilities in the UK deem as offensive.

People reacted to Lizzo using the term, with one person tweeting, "I'm disappointed in

@lizzo for using the word 'sp@z' in her new song "Grrrls". There's no excuse for using an ableist insult in a song in 2022. As someone who champions women, plus size people and others whom society treats poorly, Lizzo preaches inclusivity and should do better."

Another person wrote, "People are misquoting the lizzo song as 'I'm a spazz' it's 'imma spazz' as 'I am going to spazz' and not 'I am a spazz.'"

Lizzo apologized for the lyric, saying, "It has been brought to my attention that there is a harmful word in my new song 'GRRRLS.' Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language. As a fat black woman in America, I've had many hurtful words used against me so I overstand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case, unintentionally.)"

She continued, "I'm proud to say there's a new version of GRRRLS with a lyric change. This is the result of me listening and taking action. As an influential artist I'm dedicated to being part of the change I've been waiting to see in the world. xoxo Lizzo"

The lyrics have been updated from "Do you see this s**t/I'mma spaz to "Do you see this sh*t/Hold me back."

Halsey says that their former nanny's claims of wrongful termination are "baseless."

In documents filed in Los Angeles court Thursday (June 9th), Ashley Funches alleges that in 2021 she began working as a live-in nanny for the singer's newborn, Ender. Funches claims she was "misclassified" as an employee "exempt from overtime" and was terminated after she requested a leave of absence for a medical procedure.

In a statement to E! News, Halsey's rep called the allegations in the lawsuit "baseless" and added that Funches was terminated for leaving Ender unsupervised and in an unsafe location. The singer's attorney also claims the nanny was "intoxicated while the child was in her care."

Lynne Spears may not have been invited to her daughter's wedding, but she is still happy for her.

According to TMZ, Britney Spears's mom left a comment on the singer's Instagram post Friday (June 10th), congratulating her on her "dream" wedding.

The elder Spears wrote, "You look radiant and so happy! Your wedding is the ‘Dream' wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special! I am soooo happy for you! I love you!'

Taylor Swift gave a surprise acoustic performance of "All Too Well" Saturday (Julyl 11th) to accompany the corresponding film's Tribeca Film Festival debut. Additionally, the singer dropped an updated version of the song on streaming platforms. The new 11-minute-and-26-second version of "All Too Well" has updated instrumentals and a new outro.

Justin Bieber is asking fans for prayers as his symptoms from Ramsay Hunt syndrome worsen. The singer revealed Friday (June 10th) that he has had to cancel concerts because half of his face is paralyzed. He said in a video, "It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis. As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can't smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move." He added in a subsequent a separate Story that it's becoming more difficult to eat and that he's been doing facial exercises to get his face "back to normal."

Billie Eilish had to pause her concert Saturday (June 11th) evening due to soaring temperatures in London's O2 arena.

The BBC reports that the "Bad Guy" singer was concerned about the fans at the front of the stage who were fainting from the heat.

According to the outlet, she told the crowd, "Take a step back, give everybody some space. If someone looks a little woozy, just tell someone. Don't try to save feelings."

She was reportedly able to resume her concert after a few minutes.

Katy Perry is the face on all the new Menulog commercials that rolled out this week. The ad shows her in various locations ordering takeout to be delivered by the Australian delivery service.

Throughout the ad she sings lyrics that she co-wrote: "A little sushi while I watch a movie/ Papaya salad while I sing a ballad/ Need some ice cream, make it a swirl/ Gotta treat this California girl."

Perry is the latest U.S. music star to front the company's campaign, Snoop Dogg was once an endorser.

Halsey's Maryland concert this week was canceled due to severe flash flooding. Water was so deep at the front of the stage that fans were in it up to their ankles and were tweeting to be let out of the pit. There were lots of complaints about how the venue handled it. At one point, a crew member kicked a squirrel off the stage into the rushing water, it was later rescued. Halsey apologized for things that were out of her control and posted that she would be rescheduling soon, but at another venue.

This week, Phoebe Bridgers' show in Toronto was paused five times while the paramedics tended to people in the audience. Fans that had spent the night in line to get into the venue had fainted throughout the show. They were treated for dehydration and exhaustion. Billboard reached out to Bridgers' publicist for comment but did not receive a response.

Justin Timberlake has been named as a headliner for Pharrell Williams' upcoming festival called Something in the Water. Other top billing acts include SZA, N.O.R.E. and Clipse. The event, which is taking place in Washington, DC over Juneteenth weekend (June 17-19), will also include sets from Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals. The festival will live stream on Amazon Music.

This wouldn't be their first time working together, BTS appeared onstage with Puth at the MGA Awards in Korea in 2018 and performed "See You Again," "We Don't Talk Anymore" and "Fake Love."

Puth is currently working on his 3^rd album and BTS will release their new album, Proof, tomorrow (6-10).

Backstreet Boys surprised their fans this week by bringing their kids onstage with them. Nick Carter walked out with two of his three children - son Odin, 6, and 2-year-old daughter Saorise.

The other band members also brought out their "Backstreet Babies."

Ed Sheeran surprised a 13-year-old boy by joining his Facebook art project. Noah, who has epilepsy and cerebral palsy, is a painter and raises money for a hospital in England. He had sent Sheeran painting supplies and asked if he could help.

So, Sheeran popped online and posted a video directly to Noah and committed to start painting as soon as he could.

Noah's dad said he was excited to see the post, that he left work early, to go home and share the news. He said, "It's not every day you get a video message from a global superstar. We are big fans of Ed, and we know he's a really busy guy, so it is great to know he's even heard about our project, let along willing to participate."

Artists across the world have helped finish the art pieces, which are auctioned to help the hospital that cares for young Noah. Sheeran is one of 250 artists whose work will be auctioned later this year.

Federal prosecutors in New York want R. Kelly to face a minimum of 25 years in prison for his 2021 sex tracking and racketeering convictions.

Billboard reports that prosecutors in New York told a judge Wednesday (June 8th) that the 55-year-old singer "avoided punishment for almost 30 years and must now be held to account."

In a brief filed Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Brooklyn also made it clear that they believed Kelly deserved to spend the rest of his life in jail because he would be likely to commit further crimes if set free.

Prosecutors wrote, "Put simply, the defendant's crimes were calculated, methodical, and part a long-standing pattern of using his platform as a larger-than-life musical persona and his deep network to gain access to teenagers, many of whom were particularly vulnerable, and then to exploit them for his personal gain and sexual gratification.

They continued, "The government has little doubt that if afforded an opportunity to offend again, the defendant would do so. He poses a serious danger to the public. His actions were brazen, manipulative, controlling and coercive. He has shown no remorse or respect for the law."

His sentencing will take place on June 29th.

In an interview with Billboard, Lizzo spoke about her growing friendship with Harry Styles, He brought her out as a surprise guest in April, during his headlining slot at Coachella. About the possibility of working with him again, she said, "I don't know, I didn't even know I was doing Coachella! He's so good at what he does, and he's just the kindest person. Anything's possible. If I fit into his plan, honey, I'm there." Lizzo's next album, Special, will be out July 15.

As part of her show this week, Kelly Clarkson delivered a cover of The Weeknd and Ariana Grande's "Save Your Tears" Originally the song peaked at #4 in 2020 and then when Grande's voice was added to the remix it topped the charts. Today (6-9) Clarkson releases her EP of covers called Kellyoke.

Missy Elliot took to Instagram Wednesday (June 8th) to pay tribute to her friend of more than 24-years, Janet Jackson.

The rapper explained that she recently told Jackson that after two years of dealing with Covid restrictions, she wanted to make sure they saw each other this year.

J-hope of BTS will be heading to Chicago, IL to perform at this year's Lollapalooza.

Organizers anounced Tuesday (June 7th), that J-hope will headline Lollapalooza 2022 with a festival-closing performance on the main stage Sunday, July 31th. His performance will make history, cementing him as the first South Korean artist to ever headline a main stage at a major U.S. music festival.

Other artistsplaying at the event, which spans from Thursday, July 28th to Sunday, July 31st include Metallica, Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Don Toliver, Big Sean, Kygo, J.Cole, Green Day, Jane's Addiction, The Kid Laroi and Charli XCX.

Kanye West and Chancey Jones have called it quits.

A source close to Ye tells E! News that the 44-year-old rapper and the 24-year-old model split "a few weeks ago."

According to the insider, "Kanye is currently single. He ended it wit her. Kanye's been really busy with work. He had a lot of fun with her but is focused on other things right now."

Post Malone has added two new bonus tracks to Twelve Carat Toothache.

Billie Eilish debuted a new song during a show in Manchester, UK Tuesday (June 7th) night.

According to NME, Eilish introduced the track "TV" by saying, "We haven't played a new song live before it's out since 2017 or 2018. This one we just wrote, and we just wanted to play for you."

A clip shared on Twitter shows the singer performing the track accompanied by her brother, Finneas, on acoustic guitar.
