The Chattanooga community is gearing up for the annual Nooga Hunger Walk & Run 2026, an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to combat food insecurity in the region. Scheduled for Saturday, September 12th, the event will be hosted at the First Horizon Pavilion, located at Reggie White Blvd, and promises a family-friendly atmosphere with activities for all ages.
Participants can choose to walk or run a 5K course beginning at 8:30 a.m., with a new one-mile walk option starting at 8:45 a.m. The event aims to make a significant impact through community involvement, encouraging residents to support the cause whether by participating in the race or volunteering on the day. Registration is open now.
In addition to the race, attendees can enjoy food trucks and children’s activities, making it a festive event focused on community togetherness. Those who prefer not to run still have the opportunity to contribute by volunteering.
The event also emphasizes the importance of food donations, encouraging participants to bring non-perishable items to help stock local food banks. Pre-race packet pick-up will be available on September 11th at the Food Bank’s main warehouse, with day-of pickup available early on race day.
Organized by the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and Feeding the Future, the event aligns with the organization’s core belief that access to food is a basic human right and that collaboration is key to ending hunger. All proceeds and donations will support local efforts to provide equitable access to nutritious food and foster a healthier, hunger-free community.
