Private developers are gearing up to invest $300 million into a new amphitheater at The Bend in Chattanooga, a move that could significantly boost the city’s entertainment scene and economy.
Jimmy White of Urban Story Ventures announced with News Channel 9, that once completed, the venue will boast seating for over 12,000 concertgoers. He emphasized that the amphitheater is expected to attract talent, performances, and touring acts from across the Eastern seaboard, positioning Chattanooga as a major regional entertainment hub.
A recent feasibility study projects that the project could generate a staggering $4 billion in economic impact for the city and county over the next two decades. White expressed optimism that this new development will further enhance Chattanooga’s rapidly growing tourism industry.
“From my perspective, living in Huntsville, I see Chattanooga as a prime destination now,” White said. “People can come here for a vacation—enjoy live music, visit the aquarium, explore Lookout Mountain, and experience the lakes, rivers, mountain biking, and climbing. Chattanooga checks a lot of boxes right now.”
White also shared that once groundbreaking begins, the first concert is expected within 12 to 18 months, signaling an exciting new chapter for the city’s entertainment landscape.
This ambitious project underscores Chattanooga’s rising prominence as a vibrant, multi-faceted destination for visitors and residents alike.
