Doctors are warning against drinking potato juice to treat infections after an influencer claimed it cured her child’s Strep throat.

Strep throat is a bacterial infection that can have serious complications if left untreated. However, one TikTok influencer is touting the idea that the spud can cure the bug.

Blogger Allie Casazza claims she cured her 14-year-old using this homeopathic method and said “it kills strep right away.”

Do not treat your child with potato juice if they have severe throat symptoms,” Dr. Iddy Mughal responded in his own TikTok video. He said the potato juice claim was one of the most dangerous videos he had ever received.

Strep throat is usually treated with antibiotics.
