Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Pittsburgh might close due to a lack of funds. The program gives kids five-years-old and under a book of their choice. It requires around $8,000 a month from local donations to operate.
Her Dollywood Foundation covers overheard costs, but local groups have to pay for postage and wholesale book prices. Since its launch in 1995, the program has distributed more than 200 million books to children at no cost.
