Dwayne Johnson announced yesterday that he’s returning as Luke Hobbs in an untitled “Fast and Furious” movie.

He describes the project as a fresh, new chapter that will set up “Fast X: Part 2”, but it won’t be a “Hobbs & Shaw” sequel.  So it’s technically NOT the next “Fast and Furious” movie, but more like a bridge to it.

It’s even being described as “Fast X.5”.  Sources say it’s expected to include other “Fast” actors, but there’s no word on WHO.

The Rock said, quote, “Last summer Vin [Diesel] and I put all the past behind us.  We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve, and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love … I’ve built my career on an ‘Audience First’ mentality and that will always serve as my North Star . . . ‘Daddy’s gotta go to work.'”
