Today marks Election Day across Hamilton County and the state of Tennessee, featuring a combined State and Federal Primary along with the County General Election. Voters have the option to select either a Republican or Democratic ballot for the primary races, with each ballot also containing contested races for county offices.
Alternatively, residents can request a general ballot that includes only county-level races. Polling stations have been open since 8 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. Voters seeking their polling locations, voter-specific information, or sample ballots can access all necessary details online at the Hamilton County Election Commission’s website.
Voters are reminded to bring valid photo identification to the polls. Acceptable forms include driver’s licenses or other photo IDs issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, the state government, or the federal government, even if expired. Student IDs, however, are not recognized under Tennessee law.
Early voting and absentee ballot results are anticipated to be announced shortly after polls open, around 8:30 p.m., with final election results expected by approximately 11 p.m. These results will be posted on the county’s election website for public viewing.
