Here’s What Matty Healy Said in 2016 About Dating Taylor Swift

We’ve all heard that Taylor Swift is supposedly dating Matty Healy from The 1975.

Well, they were linked once before … all the way back in 2015.

Matty addressed that rumor in an interview with “NME” in 2016, and he said it was just “a flirtation with a girl.”  But then he speculated what it would be like to actually date Taylor.  And he didn’t make it sound very fun.

He said, quote, “It’s just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift… And the reason I mention that is because if I had gone out with Taylor Swift I would’ve been, ‘[Effing] hell!  I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend. You know, ‘[EFF].  THAT.’  That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinizing, emasculating thing.”

Maybe Taylor heard about this and said… “Hold my beer.”
