If You Eat While Typing, Your Keyboard Can Turn Into a “Bacteria Cafeteria”

Are you the kind of person who munches on chips while answering emails?  Is so, you might want to take a closer look at your keyboard.

Microbiologists are saying that typing right after eating is more unhygienic than you think . . . especially if you’re using your hands instead of a fork or spoon.

The saliva from your fingers can end up on your keyboard, and when it mixes with food residue, it can turn your keyboard into a “bacteria cafeteria.”  Apparently, certain forms of bacteria can survive on keyboard surfaces for days, so you’ll have to be careful.

But before you get all grossed out, the fix is simple.  Just keep some hand sanitizer or wet wipes nearby . . . make sure to clean your hands after eating . . . and give your keyboard an occasional wipe-down.
