CHATTANOOGA, TN – The iconic City Café location at 901 Carter St. will be shutting its doors on Monday, June 26th, after nearly 20 years of serving the community. The restaurant, famous for its hearty breakfasts and 24-hour service, will be closing due to the Days Inn Rivergate Hotel‘s decision not to renew their lease.

According to the announcement, the hotel cited that the City Café’s concept “does not fit in with the vision of their future nor do they appreciate the 24 hour business this locations brings to the city of Chattanooga.”

Despite the sudden closure, loyal customers need not worry as the restaurant has secured a new location at 511 Broad St. (next to Mayan Kitchen) and is anticipated to reopen on September 1st.

City Café has been a staple in the Chattanooga community, and the news of its closure has left many patrons saddened.

The new location is expected to have the same menu and provide the same level of service that City Café is known for. The move to Broad Street will also possibly allow for more parking options for customers.

Despite the unexpected change, the City Café team is optimistic about the future. Read the notice below.
