East Ridge, TN – In an effort to enhance recreational opportunities for residents and visitors, Tennessee American Water and the City of East Ridge proudly announced the opening of a new fishing pier at the picturesque Jack Dickert Memorial Pond. The pier, located adjacent to the Camp Jordan Arena at 323 Camp Jordan Parkway, provides anglers with improved accessibility and ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Nestled amidst the natural beauty of Camp Jordan Park, the two-acre aerated lake, known as Dickert’s Pond, has long been a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts. The serene setting of the pond, situated at the southern end of the park behind the Arena, attracts visitors seeking a tranquil fishing experience.
To maintain the ecological balance of the pond, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) closely monitors its condition and mandates a TWRA fishing license for all anglers. In an effort to enhance the fishing experience, TWRA has been actively stocking the pond with various fish species throughout the year. In the months of April, May, and June, catfish are introduced, while rainbow trout are stocked in December, January, and February.
The addition of the new fishing pier not only improves accessibility for individuals with disabilities but also offers a convenient spot for anglers to cast their lines. Visitors will also find ample parking spaces and picnic tables available behind the Arena, providing a perfect setting for a day of fishing with family and friends.
