Red Bank and Chattanooga Public Library Extend Free Library Card Program for 2026–2027

The City of Red Bank and the Chattanooga Public Library are extending their ongoing partnership into 2026–2027 with the Red Bank Resident Library Card program. This initiative provides eligible residents with FREE access to the library’s extensive resources, including digital materials, makerspaces, recording studios, children’s programming, and more.
Recently, the Red Bank City Commission approved funding to cover the costs for 200 full-access library cards for residents who qualify. These cards can be obtained or renewed at no charge at any of the Chattanooga Public Library’s five locations. Over the past two years, a total of 375 Red Bank residents have taken advantage of this program, benefiting from FREE access to the library’s services.
The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one card per household. Eligibility is open to residents who meet certain criteria, ensuring broad community access to the library’s resources.
Families with children also have additional opportunities for FREE library access. Children enrolled in Hamilton County Schools are encouraged to obtain a Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) library card at no cost. Moreover, all children ages 0–5 across Hamilton County are eligible for a FREE library card, fostering early literacy and resource access.
Officials emphasize their commitment to making the library accessible to everyone in the community. The partnership reflects ongoing efforts to provide equitable access to educational and cultural resources, supporting the growth and development of Red Bank residents.
