Food News!

If you’ve been missing a good neighborhood pizza spot on Signal Mountain, there’s some delicious news on the horizon!

A new restaurant called Mountain Pizza is coming to 1238 Taft Highway, bringing pizza back to the space formerly occupied by Signal Mountain Pizza Place, which closed in 2024 after serving the community for 35 years.

The new restaurant is being brought to the mountain by the owners of Chattanooga’s Southside Pizza. The goal is to create a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant with plenty more than just pizza on the menu.

Along with pizza, Mountain Pizza plans to serve pasta, salads, sandwiches and appetizers. The restaurant will also feature a full bar, table service and an outdoor patio, giving customers another place to grab dinner and enjoy a night out.

The new concept will take over the former pizza restaurant space at Signal Plaza, where renovations are already part of the plan. The restaurant is expected to have seating for approximately 72 guests inside, plus additional seating at the bar.

Mountain Pizza is targeting a Spring 2027 opening.

It’s been a couple of years since Signal Mountain lost its longtime pizza place, but it looks like a new neighborhood favorite could be on the way!
