Spirits In The Wild at The Chattanooga Zoo

Spirtszoo

The Chattanooga Zoo is set to host its popular adult-only event, Spirits in the Wild, on Saturday, May 16th. The exclusive after-hours experience offers guests a chance to enjoy the zoo in a unique, VIP setting filled with live music, specialty cocktails, and up-close encounters with animals, all while supporting conservation efforts.

Attendees can indulge in an open bar and sample food from local restaurants such as Jack Brown’s, Tremont Tavern, and Ruby Sunshine, among others. The event also features live art demonstrations by local artists, showcasing paintings inspired by the zoo’s animals, including paw and hoof prints and brushstrokes created by the animals themselves.

Spirits in the Wild is designed to blend fun with purpose, emphasizing the zoo’s mission to connect adults with wildlife and promote conservation. Proceeds from the event benefit both local initiatives—such as efforts to repopulate endangered hellbender salamanders—and global conservation projects involving species like red pandas, snow leopards, and tamarins.

The evening promises a lively atmosphere with a dance floor and opportunities to interact with zoo staff and animals behind the scenes. Guests are encouraged to dress in safari or animal-themed attire to enhance the experience.

The event runs from 6pm to 9 pm, with the Chattanooga Zoo closing at 4pm to prepare for the festivities.

Tickets are available separately from regular zoo admission, with prices varying for members and non-members. Valid identification is required, as the event is strictly for guests aged 21 and over, and alcohol will only be served to those with proper IDs.
