Pop icon Taylor Swift has thrilled fans worldwide with an exciting announcement on social media: she will be releasing new music this Friday (9/25). The singer shared a heartfelt message reflecting on her journey and expressing gratitude for her fans’ support.

In her post, Swift recounted a special moment from about a year ago when her fans’ overwhelming support propelled her album The Life of a Showgirl to achieve the biggest first-week debut in music history. She revealed that after this milestone, she traveled to Sweden with collaborators Max and Shellback to celebrate. During their time there, inspired by their emotions, they created four new songs, which will be part of the upcoming release.

“Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs,” Swift wrote. “I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made.”
