Tennessee High School Student Make Prosthetic Hand for Classmate
Chattanooga, Tennessee—(News Channel 5 Nashville)
Hendersonville High School students are making national news after helping out a fellow student. Sophomore student, Sergio Peraota was born without a hand. Other students noticed how difficult it was for Sergio to do work on his computer. Engineering teacher Jeff Wilkins wanted to do something about it. Mr. Wilkins, Sergio and tons of other students worked on designs and execution for months. Once they had a design and made modifications, the team 3D printed it. Now, Sergio says he wears the prosthetic every day and tries to do new things.
