The Golden Globes Nominees Have Been Announced…

Nominees for the Golden Globes were announced yesterday… and remember how Will Smith was concerned that his behavior at the Oscars would unnecessarily punish the cast and crew of “Emancipation”?

Well, that may be EXACTLY what happened . . . because the movie was completely snubbed, even though many people expected it to get some love this award season.

Tom Cruise also failed to score a nod for “Top Gun: Maverick”. . . even though the movie itself got two, for Best Motion Picture, Drama and Best Original Song.

It’s possible Cruise is being punished, too.  Last year when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association got slammed for its lack of diversity and other ethically-questionable practices, Tom RETURNED his three Globes.

One person who DIDN’T get snubbed is the one guy who has publicly stated he’s not showing up:  Brendan Fraser.  He’s up for “The Whale”, but he has a sordid history with the HFPA.

The former head of it GROPED Brendan in 2003, and it sent him into a personal and career tailspin he’s only just recovering from.

Other supposed snubs this year include Adam Sandler for “Hustle”, and the films “Armageddon Time”“Causeway”“Nope”, and “Till”.

On the TV side, some of the shows that didn’t make this year’s cut include “Stranger Things”“The Handmaid’s Tale”“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”“This Is Us”, and “Dead to Me”.
