For more than 20 years, Chattanooga musician Josh Gilbert has been creating, performing, and sharing original music across the Southeast and beyond. Now, he’s the latest local artist to be featured on The Proximity Playlist with Gino D, the Hits 96 series and podcast dedicated to highlighting talented musicians from our community.

Josh’s musical journey began right here in Chattanooga, where he first started playing music alongside his brother and cousin in the rock trio, Jettison Never. What started as a local project eventually grew into years of touring, performances across the United States, and a lifelong passion for songwriting and live music.
Over the years, Josh has continued to evolve as an artist, blending influences from rock, blues, Americana, folk, and alternative music into a sound that is uniquely his own.
Today, Josh performs regularly throughout the region, often bringing an acoustic approach that highlights his guitar work, storytelling, and soulful style. He’s also passionate about building community through music and is one of the organizers behind The Union Chattanooga, a group that supports faith-based musicians, songwriters, and church music leaders through fellowship, creativity, and encouragement.
Josh recently released his first blues-inspired single, “Lightning And Thunder,” and plans to follow it with a 70s-influenced classic rock song titled “Hitch A Ride” later this year.
